Starting tomorrow on Friday 16th September GGAT will be supporting a project being run by The National Trust at Aberdulais Falls Tinplate Works.
This project aims to identify the original floor surfaces of a number of early 19th century buildings on site that are associated with the tinning works. From this we can tell their current state of preservation and clear the buildings ready for important repair and consolidation work to take place that will improve the site overall.
This is fantastic opportunity to get involved with the archaeology of Aberdulais and help to benefit the site in the long term.
The project is running on Fridays and weekends till the end of the month with the dates as follows;
Week 1: 16th, 17th and 18th September
Week 2: 23rd 24th and 25 September
Week 3: 30th September & 1st, 2nd October
Each day begins at 10:15am for a 10:30am start finishing at 4pm
If you would like to volunteer your time to help out with the project you can get in touch with natasha@ggat.org.uk or Claudine.Gerrard@nationaltrust.org.uk with the dates you are available.
Hope to see you there!
